Laughter echoed off the walls of the colossal room where many of the English court were gathered. Many chattered about but the majority had made their way into the middle of the room where they joined to dance to joyous tunes. The male had made sure to steer clear of the sirens who were not so elegant enough to hide the buzz from the wine they had already drank. Events such as these did not interest the male at most times, but a good friend of his had insisted on his arrival and after being bribed with a few drinks he had given in. The male had just been waiting for the night to end.
Bringing him from his boredom his gaze had locked onto someone he had not seen before, a young woman who enchanted him from the start. She had kind eyes, and a smile sweet as honey that drew him to her like a fly. Her beauty was not the only thing to allure him but the fact that she was dancing alone. She may have been partner-less but everyone parted to watch her delicate frame move with the tune. Ballet, he guessed it was. He had seen many women dance many ways but for some strange reason she had entrapped him.
Her performance had concluded and the male had found himself clapping along with many others in the court. She curtsied and smiled once again which caused something in him to tug at his heart and want him to make her smile like that again but only for him and his selfish reasons. He doesn't immediately scurry to her side because he's a stubborn man and he's prideful in moments such as these. After she's spoken with a few people and she's finally alone for just a split second he slowly moves through the crowds of people. His intense gaze may be seen as unsettling but to his luck she hasn't noticed him yet and he's determined to make a good first impression.
Finally the angel is close enough to touch and for the first time she looks to him, knocking the air right from his lungs and the words from his tongue. Smiling again he takes note on how much she is glowing. After a good moment of silence is exchanged between the two he bows before her, "madam," he began before mentally scolding himself for already messing his introduction up. "I do apologize, I guess I am still a bit charmed from your dancing." She laughs in return and he can swear he's already fallen in love. "What is your name?"
"Catherine, sir."
