†The memories settled in, as if they were droplets of water upon a leaf at morning, small at first and combining to a large overflow of emotions, then passing so suddenly that she grasped at the remnants of what remained. Dreams made her feel again, made it like she was mortal again, and always left with an unsettling feeling. With each awakening, the memories faded fast and it took all of her might to hold onto them, although time decimated any minuscule residual memory. Lilith may have made her emotionless, as a demon, but even hell could not completely rid her of the nightmares and dreams she experienced with the little time she spent in slumber.
Sleep, rest, death, they all felt similar to her now.
For many years death felt like it was a nightmare, not real, and she would wake up. Her mortal mother and sisters’ memories haunted her for so very long, she knew she could never visit them in her current state of darkness.
As a mortal witch, born into her family's coven, they were proud witches of light, strictly living by the Neopagan and Wiccan Rede; An it harm none, do what ye will. Along with the basic Rede came the Moral Law of Threefold, which is understood to mean that whatever one puts out into the (benevolent or otherwise) is given back times three. A similar concept to the Hindu belief in Karma.
Hell diminished every part of her light, replacing it with the darkest black that her soul had no light left. When her mortal body took its last breath, and fire engulfed her, it took with it all the good that existed in her. Obscurity, gloom, and shadows now eclipsed every inch of light that ventured anywhere near her soul, and complete twilight was forever her future.
Requiem, death song, the lament of her mortal soul, the moments of torment at her awakening, although short lived they were her inner torture now. Awake and shake it off, the plague of her mortal memories will never go away, but they were all she had to remind her of what it felt to feel again. †
