"Hello there! Greetings. Sup? How you doing?" were the words that came out of her lips as she stared at fog collecting mirror before her. A heavy sigh slipping past her lips as she grabbed her brush and began to run it through her brown locks. "No, that's just," she idly stated before a growl crept out of her lips. The dress she had picked out flowed down her body as the black fabric shifted with her arms that rose up to reach the back of her head. A plain porcelain face stared back at her, those sapphire eyes glistening in the lights sitting on either side of her mirror. She had the plan of going out tonight and just relaxing instead of being cooped up in her house studying the charred journal entries. Everyone thought he was dead after his last failed experiment exploded leaving his work area in shambles. Even with everything either on fire or destroyed, there were no limbs, blood or a body to be found at all. So it was easier for people just to assume he was dead rather than maybe he had conjured up some forbidden magic and went poof because of it. That's what she believed and why she was following in his footsteps as best as she could.
Tonight was an attempt of distracting her mind from focusing on those notes and just keeping her head buried within. Yet interacting with people just wasn't something she did a whole lot of. People were complicated and had so many more complexities to them than something like a pocket watch. Sure she could still figure out a person and get use to them, but it was that initial moment of hello that scarred the living hell out of her. What was she really to say? Shows on the television made everything so much easier when the truth was the complete opposite. Still she forced herself out the door the moment she felt just a fraction of readiness, not wanting to lose her courage and retreat back to her room. Pushed out the door by her own, dwindling, courage, she walked out into the main hall of the apartment building and felt regret the very moment she closed the door behind her.
A heavy breath came to her as she pushed herself further, feet carried her to the stairs down as she noticed one of her neighbors coming up with a basket of laundry. A soft smile found itself upon her lips, but she was promptly ignored as the man pushed by her and continued on his way like she was nothing more than a ghost. Nose scrunched before she focused her attention back to going out the door and just doing something. People go out to bars and the like, right? Something like that at least. Now at the exit for the building, she stared beyond the glass pane in the door to see the setting sun just beyond some trees as a heavy sigh found her once more and she pulled the door open so she could go out into the waning day and see what she could make of it.
